Small commune of Kreiz Breizh nestled in the heart of Brittany center, Mellionnec knows to be appreciated by its site valued and wooded, and also by its rich local patrimony. The canal from Nantes to Brest (364 km) passes over the village.


Mellionnec has 415 inhabitants and is renowned for its cultural dynamism. Twelve associations offer services in various fields (culture, animation, education, hunting ...) and many artists reside there.


The village has a school (30 children), an organic shop, a coffee shop, a wood carver, a library.


The commune has an area of 24 km2, it houses the heart of the village, and many hamlets spread in the surrounding countryside. Inhabitants and visitors can enjoy several hiking and cycling paths cross the town.

Important events


Exhibition of monumental sculptures, in the alleys and inhabitant’s gardens. The Breton sculptors are invited to exhibit their works there. This biennale takes place from the beginning of September to the end of October, the odd years.


Ty Films

Documentary film festival held each year on the last weekend of June. The association Ty Films which carries this project also offers professional training, organizes nomadic screenings in unusual places and offer a video library.
