Kirchheim 'im Innkreis' is situated in the lower part of Austria (not far from Linz).
The village has 650 inhabitants, many farmers, one painter, a 1000 years old tree and a very active mayor.
Long ago the Romans went through Kirchheim to the north. Now this road is as 'Römer Radweg' a route by bicycle to Passau and it is a touristy attraction.
The main activity is agriculture. The production of cider, fruit juices and scnapps - local specialties is encouraged by the municipality.
The community is working on a Milestone project. It wants to interest every village to have its own Milestone.
The Kirchheimers live on a territory of 10 km2 of verdant hills covered with fruit trees. They form a united community which is particularly proud of its fanfare which occurs in Austria and
elsewhere.
In 2010 Kirchheim will be Cultural Village of Europe. In that year Kirchheim exists 900 years.
